About
Gitaarbouwwinkel

The address for tonewood and construction kits for every guitar builder. You have also come to the right place for accessories and maintenance products. We ensure the right temperature and humidity for all our wood. Make sure that you keep your wood at 45-55% humidity at home. Large differences in humidity cause the wood to work and give the chance of cracking. The ideal temperature is between 18 -27C.

Tools
Paints, glues and tuners
You can also go to the Gitaarbouwwinkel for tools, varnishes, and tuning machines. We sell Nitro Cellulose varnishes in a spray can, and 2-component varnishes of our own brand that are completely clear and transparent and do not affect the color of your wood. This 2-component varnish can be polished well and is resistant to impact. You can also go to the Guitar Building Shop for tools and tuning machines. We sell tuners by Schaller, Gotoh, Rubner and Der Jung.
Because there is little or no special wood available in the Netherlands for guitar building, we are specialized in various types of wood that are extremely suitable for building your own instrument. Think of Spruce (European and Engelmann) and Red Cedar for tops. Indian Rosewood, Cocobolo, American Walnut, Cypress, Maple, Padouk, Madagascar Rosewood, etc. for backs and sides. | For necks of steel string and Spanish (classical) guitars, you should think of Cedrela and African Mahogany. Cedrela is the traditional wood for the classical guitar, although this species is increasingly used for the acoustic guitar. For the fingerboard, Ebony and Indian Rosewood are often used, but species such as Pao Ferro and Madagascar Rosewood are also common. | It doesn't stop at just selling wood and other supplies. We also provide a service where you can have the wood you bought sanded by us to a thickness of your choosing. For this we use a special sanding machine that gradually brings the wood to the right thickness. This leaves you with more time for the more fun aspects of guitar building. |
