All of our ebony comes from Africa (Diospyrus crassiflora). It is a very dark, almost black, wood with a narrow, straight, dark brown grain with no knots in the highest quality grades. Its texture is especially fine, but resistant to wear, which is why it is used for fingerboards, and its price can reach as high as 40$. Ebony can also be used for bridges and headplates.
