Padouk bridge blank 185x35x14mm
- Botanic name: pterocarpus soyauxii
- Origin: West Africa
- Other names: Palo rojo, Mbe, Mbil, Ngula, Bosulu
- Uses: Back and sides
Padouk is a burnt orange colour with hairline streaks of dark brown especially when freshly cut, and when oxidised becomes a dark orange tending towards brown. This wood is very slightly harder and heavier than Indian rosewood, and is ideal for backs and sides for guitar due to its stability, string tone and easyness to work.
